WEEK 1
For this project, the snippet I chose to work with is an image from a Thai queer archive I found during methods of contextualising.

The main reason I decided to use this is because during methods of the contextualising project, there were some questions that came up related to the use of homoerotic images that I haven’t had a chance to explore.
- Why do some people find it absurd and even consider those who enjoy this kind of content a pervert?
- Why for some people, it represents a sense of vulnerability, longing and beauty?
- Where’s a thin line between two of the questions above?
So for my iteration, I explored the possibility within this image. I manipulated, rearranged, deconstructed and resized it by using the grid system I created (similar to 70 pixels) → to see how people would perceive this homoerotic image different than before.

Feedback
- What’s working is a part that uses the method of censoring, filtering some details and the one where I put black squares on top
- What’s not working is a part that I rearrange the picture; it loses a sense of erotic
- To develop, maybe expand the data set of images, filter different body parts, find an enquiry and look through something cultural-related?
